Amnesia.

Minnie wakes up this morning, very happy and eager to start her day. She is always happy Minnie, she loves her life, who she is, and believe the world to be a wonderful place to enjoy.
It is 7am, same time every day, she wakes up and go down in the kitchen where her mum waits for her with a big smile.
-“morning honey, how are today? Did u sleep well? ”
The breakfast is on table, boiled eggs and a warm black coffee, just as she wished. She is thinking what a wonderful mum she has, always knows what she wants before she even tells hers, but how does she do this?
A year ago, Minnie had a very bad car accident. She had a brain surgery and the doctors said she will have a normal life again but might suffer from anterograde amnesia, in other words her memory storage capacity was damaged. She remembers everything from before the accident but people keep saying to her that she doesn’t register any database from day to day’s life, but she doesn’t remember...
After breakfast, Minnie gets ready to go to her piano lesson; she is very excited today as she is going to practise a new piece from Bach. She takes her bike and ride down the path and through the little forest on the other side of the village where her old teacher lives. She leaves the bike outside, goes up the stairs under the porch and knocks at the door.
When the door opens a beautiful young man stands in front of her instead of Mrs Darley. Her heart stops beating, she feels suddenly warm, red on her face and freeze. “Is that what we call love at first sight? who is he?”
He tells her she knows him, gives her a big hug, a tender kiss and lets her in. He is beautiful, speaks slowly with a warm and charming voice. He makes her some tea, his mum is away, and he will practice with her. They seat together at the piano, 4 hands playing in tune, she wishes this day to never end.
When she looks into his eyes, she can see sadness, immense sadness, like he could burst into tears in a second, his heart is heavy, he swallows his words, emotions are intense, she doesn’t understand why.
She stays for lunch. They go for a walk after, the day is warm but still a bit fresh, it’s springtime. Late afternoon she is on her bike on her way back home. She tells her mum.
After diner she goes in her bedroom and dream about her life with him and falls asleep. Tomorrow she will go to uni, she thinks.
The phone rings and Minnie’s mum answers. So how was she today? Same as yesterday? Have you noticed any improvement?
Minnie is stuck in the past, there is no tomorrow as tomorrow is the same as today. Never ending love at first sight and she is happy.
